Annual Career Options Conference
As a continuing activity originally funded
from the district's National Science Foundation Partnership
Grant, middle school students will again have the opportunity
to attend a Science Career Options Conference at UCI, to
be held on, December 13th , 2011 (tentative) .
Students will be able to hear a keynote address, and then
hear from a variety of dynamic speakers about scientific
and technological careers. Each student will attend 3 break-out
sessions.
The tentative schedule for the day is listed

Selection of students is based on 7th grade students that
submit a request explaining why they would like to attend
this years conference.
All requests will be read and 70 students will be chosen
to attend the conference. Preference will be given to those
students who are most interested in science and demonstrate
this interest in their letter to attend. All students selected
should be well behaved and able to follow appropriate behavior
guidelines given by adults they may be unfamiliar with.
Students will be listening to speakers, not necessarily
participating in hands-on activities.
